An 8 foot fence with barbed wire will keep deer and most varmints out.

This is our property perimeter fence. It has 2 inch spaced wire mesh which will keep most varmints out. It is also hard to climb making it a first level of defense against intruders. For both intruders, varmints and predators, a fence is not an impenetrable barrier, but just an unfriendly perimeter that sends a message to unwanted guests that they would have an easier time going somewhere else.
